I live, just have been very busy as of late with family down for the holiday, and my birthday. Thank you everyone for the kind birthday wishes it made my day much brighter. I also spent a day rearranging my room and then the days that followed that cleaning and throwing out lots of stuff. I still have more cleaning to do but it is more of less down to one pile that I have no idea where to put. (ie, papers, doodles, designs and stuff).

Princess Bride gown is done, I am making another belt for it but that is a bit slow going at the moment and I still nee some type of Juliet cap for it. I worked on my bustle yesterday so that is finished and I am ready to move on to making a matching corset, I just gotta convince myself to start on it.

Halloween time is nearing for me, I've been working on doing the fiddly finishing bits on Jenny's hoops, shift and corset as my hands will let me. I've decided I'm going to do a black Victorian gown for myself this year if I have the time. And my little cousin has decided that she wants the gold gown from PotC 1. I think a love of opulence is genetic.

I've done more plotting about the black velvet Mary gown and will make a separate post for that just to keep everything straight in my head about it. I still need to finish my black leather doublet, I got more trim for it so that shall soon be done. Then I need to figure out how I want to make the slopes for it and the sleeves.

After Halloween it is then getting stuff ready for the Clearwater Pirate fest. I plan to wear the plum gown at least one day, but the other two days I want to wear something else....I have a coat pattern I drafted up for myself last year. But I am unsure on some of the finishing techniques used then. And I cannot get my hands on a copy of the cut of men's clothing or the like. The library doesn't carry it nor do any of the libraries that are part of the loaning network. Does anyone has any info on Justacorpes styled coats and will let me pick their brains? I mainly want to know how the bottom coat edges were finished, if they were bag lined or hemmed separately from each other. Then after that I might have an evening gown commission.

Oh.. and I ordered a dress form  finally =)
